With the whole world against them, Ace and Zora will have to rely on each other to make it through the noise. But if they’re gonna fight together, they’re gonna have to trust one another.

The creative team behind Blüdwire is back with issue two, and we’re jumping right back into the action. With Ace and Zora on the run from an underground agency and superbots hot on their tail, they’re forced to use any means necessary to escape from their robotic clutches. There is no time for rest in a society that wants you subjugated under the rule of their thumb, leading to high tension between our two lovers.

The story progresses naturally from the first issue into this one, and it’s great to see the relationship between Ace and Zora strengthen through their attempts to evade the eye of their creators. There’s a stark personality difference between the two, and although the contrast creates conflict at times, it’s clear to the reader that this is where the true heart of the story lies. They only have each other, and it’s only through the intense pressure they’re under that what they’ve built can blossom into something more.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Blanco’s work is exceptional beyond measure, and this comic is no different. They bring into the fold an array of action-packed sequences, rife with firepower and metal that are drawn with such precision. The coloring from Peer adds a palette of complexity that imitates the everyday life of the Blüdwire universe, giving it depth and shades that speak to the destruction that occurs.

Blüdwire #2 is a fantastic continuation of the series, and I’m excited to see if our favorite fugitive duo is able to find the freedom they desire.
