Savannah and Marcus used to be the best temporal thieves in the business. They would flit back in time to steal items ranging from the ordinary to the obscure, then bring them back to their own time, where those things were rare and difficult to obtain and could be sold for a hefty profit.

That was 10 years ago, though. Now, they’re married, with a son Harper. No more jumping through the timeline, no more dangerous missions. And they’re happier for it. It’s all for the best. Right?

Only the role of wife and mother with a regular 9-to-5 job isn’t quite cutting it for Savannah anymore. She misses her old life of adventure. So, against the advice of her best friend Jamie and without telling her husband, Savannah decides to go back into the field for one last job. Only it’s never one last job. And when something goes wrong, her family—and the entire timeline—may be in jeopardy.

This is a really fun time-travel adventure. The story beats are familiar ones, but the world the story inhabits is unique and worth exploring. There’s plenty of action, plenty of thrills, and some great characters. The artwork is beautiful, too, building out the world in the ’80s, the ’90s, and the future, in vibrant color and detail.

My only real criticism is the end. No spoilers, but the story’s resolution feels rushed. It’s actually a really cool plot device, but instead of exploring it, it’s given to us all at once, mostly in exposition. It easily could have been built out into a whole extra chapter, maybe two. In fact, the story in general could have been twice as long, and I would have loved every minute of it.

In spite of the rushed bits, this is a solid comic and one worth reading. If you’re a fan of time travel, heists, and action/adventure stories in general, then you’ll want to check out Temporal.
