Thanks, Gaga!

Turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and, um, Lady Gaga’s 90-minute commercial for her new holiday EP and Born This Way remix album- er, rather 90-minute Thanksgiving special, A Very Gaga Thanksgiving.

Anyone who knows me knows I love Lady Gaga. I did try to ca$h in on her popularity with my Gaga tribute comic book, Going Gaga!, after all.

Directed and produced by Gaga herself, I have to say it was highly entertaining and beautifully shot.

From the opening with her and Tony Bennett singing “The Lady is a Tramp” to beautiful renditions of “Marry the Night” and “You and I,” Gaga’s voice was spot on, as usual, and no one can deny this Lady’s vocal ability. I loved when she tried to pedantically explain to the 3rd graders who Jackson Pollock was, and they schooled her, explaining they were quite familiar with the impressionist. It was a little weird when she and Oprah’s chef, Art Smith, made fried turkey and waffles (especially with Gaga’s 5-inch pointed black finger nails), but, hey, who am I to judge? I haven’t seen anything this bizarre or entertaining since Raquel Welch’s musical variety prime time special in the ’70s. (A YouTube must see!) Paws up!

Michael Troy is a deeply superficial person. Born in the midwest in the ’70s, Michael came to Los Angeles to pursue his bi-polar career path as an actor and artist. 2005 saw the release of Michael’s first published book, Homo-Hero’s Big Book of Fun and Adventure ( Michael has contributed to the Lady Gaga comic book from Bluewater Productions and has his hand in various other upcoming projects. Michael has performed stand-up comedy at all of the major comedy clubs in Los Angeles and is making his triumphant return to the main stage of The Comedy Store in September. Michael offers an off-beat sense of humor as the star of such youtube cult classics As The Gays on Film (, A Minute With Margot, a loving tribute to Superman legend Margot Kidder (, and currently hosts a vlog style series Lethally Blonde over at Sitting alongside industry heavyweight Phil Jimenez at the “Divas and Lassoes” panel for the 2010 San Diego comic-con, Michael maintains and cherishes his “underground” status. A staunch believer in Blonde Ambition, Michael hopes his new comic about shallow blonde super heroes in Los Angeles, The Blonde Squad, will set the world on fire (or at least brighten it a bit).
