#GeeksCare: How You Can Help the 6th Annual Jawiin Charity Drive for Service Members

When Fanbase Press is not providing you with the latest in geek news and entertainment, the Fanbase Press staff hopes to offer our readers myriad opportunities to give back to the community. We love reading comics, watching movies, and playing video games, but we are never happier than when we are able to help others in need. With Geeks Care: How You Can Help, Fanbase Press will provide you a variety of causes that would greatly appreciate your time.

For the latest edition of Geeks Care, the Fanbase Press staff would like to once again highlight the generous efforts of Jason Inman (Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Ringo Award-nominated writer – Jupiter Jet, Science! The Elements of Dark Energy, Super Soldiers) and Ashley V. Robinson (Ringo Award-nominated writer – Jupiter Jet, Science! The Elements of Dark Energy, Super Soldiers) as they endeavor to raise money for American service members all over the world this holiday season.

In light of the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic this year, the Jawiin Charity Drive for Service Members has gone virtual, with a free-to-view, 5-hour virtual livestream show scheduled for Saturday, November 14th, 2020, from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. PT. The goal is to raise $5000 for Operation Gratitude to use towards packaging and shipping care packages to service members all across the world. These care packages include snacks, hygiene products, entertainment, and even comic books!

Each hour of the Jawiin Charity Drive for Service Members will include a comic convention-style panel with celebrity guests, including famed Hollywood director and podcaster Kevin Smith, Susan Eisenberg (Justice League Unlimited), Tom King (Batman, Mister Miracle), Mitch Gerads (Sheriff of Babylon, Strange Adventures), Doc Shaner (Strange Adventures, Future Quest), Tom Merritt (Daily Tech News Show, Current Geek), Brian Ibbott (The Morning Stream, Coverville), YouTube stars Brian Tong (Apple Byte, DC Daily), Emma Fyffe (The Download), Jay Washington (Mad Titans Podcast), and DJ Wooldridge (Only Stupid Answers).

In addition to panels, the highest donor of each hour of the livestream will win a prize. These prizes include original art by comic book luminaries Dan Jurgens (Death of Superman, Booster Gold), Cully Hamner (Black Lightning: Year One, Detective Comics), and Brett Booth (X-Men, Titans), and signed copies of Jason Inman’s prose book, Super Soldiers: A Salute to Comic Book Heroes and Villains Who Fought for Their Country.

Let’s join together to show our troops how much we appreciate them!
