Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: Politics, Race, and the Media
What it’s about: For over two decades, David G. Brown has enlightened and educated readers with creative political cartoons in the Los Angeles Sentinel, the oldest African American newspaper in the West. His humorous, yet insightful, images offer thoughtful commentary on pressing issues of the day. This book is a collection of those cartoons dealing with everything impacting Los Angeles and the world from an African American perspective.

Project #2: League of Cryptids: Frogs Go to Loveland #1-3
What it’s about: Unfortunately, Earth has the reputation of being the “backwoods” of the galaxy. These 5 mysterious creatures (Sasquatch, The Loch Ness Monster or Nessa, The Jersey Devil, Mothman, and Chupacabra) are representatives of a federation of planets unfortunate enough to be assigned to Earth. Over the millennia, they have helped humans to develop and defended Earth from outside forces.
League of Cryptids #3 is the third issue in a 4-part story that covers the League’s origin, and they face a challenge in the form of an invading alien force. The alien force is based on the real cryptid, the Loveland Frogmen.

Project #3: Tokyo Blade Detectives #1-10
What it’s about: The story is set 200 years in the future, where Japan has been rebuilt through incredible technology and several new laws. But the one that no one can break is “No Guns Allowed.”
While noble, it creates a power vacuum that is filled with groups using “laser swords.” Now, the capital of Tokyo is constantly under siege. Five factions have risen up to take everything for themselves, and our main character, Miko, a 16-year-old detective, is just trying to live through it all.

Project #4: Lost Sun #1
What it’s about: Lost Sun is a reimagination of classic Egyptian mythology through the lens of superhero action-adventure. Ra, the King of Gods and ruler of the Land-Above-All, has been cursed by Set. The god of disorder and tricks now forces the King to do his bidding.
Fortunately enough for the forgotten gods, ancient magics have brought them out of their dreaming state to continue their reign of terror—right as a traveling circus of superabled beings arrives in town.
