Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: Small Change
What it’s about: An all-new, 100-page horror story from writer/artist Richard Fairgray about what it takes to change and how far we’ll go to hold on to that feeling.
We all want change, whether it’s big or small, but how much small change would we need to make one big change? How much small change would we have to collect to take ourselves away from this life, from this world, to somewhere new where we could be completely different? Once we got there, how would we keep that change going? Because the truth we don’t want to look at is that the thing we really hate might never be able to be changed.
This is a story about a person stuck in the moment of one big change, doing everything they can to stay there rather than see what’s on the other side, in case it’s the same version of themself they left behind. Told across 100 pages in a pocket-sized book.

Project #2: Stash Box
What it’s about: Harrison is a young man fresh out of high school, with his life neatly mapped out in front of him. Lou is a daring young woman recently returned from her first year away at college. And one summer night, they’ll sneak into an empty suburban home that draws them into an unimaginable realm of terror and transformation.
STASH BOX is a unique love letter to the horror comics of yesteryear. We’ve taken our favorite pieces of Creepshow and Tales from the Crypt and placed them strategically through the pages of this 36-page, oversized one-shot. To complete the presentation, we’re printing the comic on high-quality newsprint to give this book the look and feel of something from another time.

Project #3: A Thousand Cuts #1
What it’s about: 24 hours to kill or be killed…
An ancient sentient samurai sword that hungers for blood, a recovering addict with a sordid past, thrown into a world of sadistic crime lords, crooked cops, and supernatural evil.
Anyone unfortunate enough who is cut by the sword has no choice but become its vessel of carnage. Those cursed by the sword have no out, they have 24 hours to kill or be killed. A Thousand Cuts #1 introduces us to the Sword and our anti hero, Chiyo.
After her father’s funeral, Chiyo and her sister Akai begin clearing out his home, only for Chiyo to slice her finger on the sword, hidden in their father’s basement. In that moment, her life as she knew it, is over—because the blade is far from ordinary. It is alive, cursed with an insatiable thirst for blood, and now, so is she.
This is not a hero’s journey. A Thousand Cuts is a descent—a battle of wills between a young woman trying to escape her past and a cursed, sentient sword that won’t let her! Every kill twisting the blade deeper, warping her morality, until the line between survival and slaughter will blur beyond recognition.
