Fanbase Press is proud to announce that the Paul and Corey Cross the Streams (PACCTS) podcast will return for its eighth season on Thursday, February 12, 2026!
Launched in March of 2019, Paul and Corey Cross the Streams is a bi-monthly podcast in which hosts Paul Pakler and Corey Pepper (co-hosts, Quality Time with Family Ties podcast) watch and review streaming content. It’s the Great American Podcast where two friends learn about life as they float down the river of streaming services.
For this season, the co-hosts wanted to do something completely different and a fundamental part of both of their lives…musicals! It’s a singular art form with a dynamic history, which they wanted to examine and study. Many of these films are based on Broadway productions, so they will be discussing theatrical runs and books and scores; however, film musicals have become almost genre-defying in recent years. This may be the most research-heavy season of PACCTS.
The first episode of Season 8 will focus on the movie musical, The Music Man (1962). Additional movie musicals this season will include West Side Story, LaLa Land, Cats, Carousel, Yesterday, and The Last Five Years.
“I’m very excited to watch films (and by extension the musicals) I never had before – the more lavish and romantic the better,” notes co-host Paul Pakler. “I have a more ambivalent relationship with musical theatre than I think Corey does, and I want to see if I can make myself fall in love with them over the course of this year.”
“I’ve always been a musical theater kid,” notes co-host Corey Pepper. “But a really snobby one. Lavish and romantic might be what I hate most about musicals. Give me something witty or something that tugs at the heartstrings. No doubt Paul’s choices will have me ranting and raving at some point.”
The Season 8 premiere of Paul and Corey Cross the Streams will be released on Thursday, February 12, 2026, on the Fanbase Press website (www.fanbasepress.com) and through Apple Podcasts. Subsequent episodes will air every other Thursday.
