The following is an interview with Aditya Putcha regarding the encore presentation of A Haunting Revue at the 2025 Hollywood Fringe Festival. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with Putcha about the collection of stories involved in the production, working with the talented cast and crew to bring the show to life, how you can purchase tickets, and more!
Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: Congrats on the launch of your production of in this year’s Hollywood Fringe Festival! For those who may be unfamiliar, what can you tell us about the premise of this show?
Aditya Putcha: It’s a Night Gallery tribute (or a Twilight Zone tribute, for people unfamiliar with Night Gallery).
There are three segments:
Three adult siblings let out their years of grievances with each other – siblings including a brother, a sister, and an extraterrestrial
Christopher Lee, right before taking over the role of Dracula, meets his predecessor, Bela Lugosi
The Monkey’s Paw with a younger, more diverse cast and an added thematic layer involving child abuse
BD: As the co-writer, what can you share with us about the shared creative process of working with the cast and crew to bring this production to life?
AP: I am the surviving founder of the repertory J-P Theatre Productions. We have an amazing group of actors, as well as board members (myself, Richard, and three others named Brendan, Ari, and Christine) who are multi-hyphenates. Input from all sorts of people in our troupe led to this beautiful work.
BD: At Fanbase Press, our #StoriesMatter initiative endeavors to highlight the impact that stories can have on audiences of various mediums. How do you feel that your story will connect with and impact audiences?
AP: The first segment is relatable for anyone who has ever had a sibling – or even anyone who has ever had a parent.
The second is a treat for film history buffs – and has strong thematic material about the passage of time.
The third is an adaptation of arguably the scariest and most famous short story ever – and it not only depicts aspects of various cultures but explores the darkest and most fragile parts of human nature.
BD: What makes the Hollywood Fringe Festival an ideal venue for your productions?
AP: It’s for passionate theatre minds seeking to make a name for themselves. J-P had already started to develop some brand recognition, and this was the perfect forum to build on that!
BD: Are there any future plans to perform the show at other venues?
AP: If other venues are interested, please reach out to us! Email us at jptheatreproductions (at) gmail (dot) com or find us on IG (@JPTheatreProductions).
BD: Are there any upcoming projects that you would care to share with our readers?
AP: Some of the company’s actors, including myself and multiple board members, will be in an improv show called Noises Off the Rails later this year.
BD: Lastly, what would you like to tell readers who want to learn more about and purchase tickets for A Haunting Revue?
AP: Do so right here. Thank you!
