Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! Project #1: Come Out and Play: The Queer Sports Project

What it’s about: Come Out and Play: The Queer Sports Project is a full-color paperback comics anthology celebrating LGBTQ+ people and their experiences in sports. Over two dozen queer comics creators tell their stories about athletic joy, love, heartbreak, participation, inclusion, discovery, and rebellion! Co-editors Megan Praz and Meghan Kemp-Gee, creators of One More Year and Contested Strip, bring their experience and love of sports comics to this project. An all-star team of cartoonists and athletes creates a “sporty queer comics mixtape,” a groundbreaking celebration of a dazzling array different sports, storytelling, and artistic styles.
