The following is an interview with writer/artist Joe St.Pierre (Marvel, Spider-Man, Venom) regarding the recent launch of a Zoop crowdfunding campaign for the collection, Joe St.Pierre Sketchbook 2025. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with St.Pierre about his new projects on the horizon and more!

Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: You recently launched a Zoop crowdfunding campaign for Joe St.Pierre Sketchbook 2025, collecting your incredible covers, sketches, and more from the last year. As you look ahead to the combined collection, what has been your experience in revisiting your body of work?

Joe St.Pierre: Most of the sketches included in the book were done together with customers live on Whatnot, which is a streaming platform I joined last year.

BD: Your work has spanned various entertainment mediums, from comics to animation and video games. Was there anything in particular about the sequential art medium that attracted you more than other artistic media?

JSP: Grew up with comics since I was very young, so it go into my bloodstream I guess!

BD: In revisiting your work, was there anything new or intriguing that you took away from the imagery that you hadn’t anticipated when originally creating it?

JSP: I would love to talk about my finest hour as a comics writer/artist, and that is the NEW ZODIAX! There are storytelling devices in the NEW Z that have never been seen in comics before.

BD: Are there any other projects – past or current – that you would like to highlight for our readers?

JSP: NEW ZODIAX PISCES #1 is about a high-level psychic named CRICKET, who can communicate with the dead trapped on earth. Lots of horror; think Ghostbusters meets Indiana Jones. It’s set for release in February.

NEW ZODIAX PISCES #1 is in the current issue of Previews Magazine. The Product item code is DEC241286 E NEW ZODIAX PISCES GN (C: 0-1-2).

If you’re a fan, please order thru your retailer asap! If you’re a retailer, please order as many copies as possible before the cutoff date of 12/27/24!

BD: Lastly, in light of the Zoop campaign, are there any particular backer rewards that you want to note for our readers?

JSP: The Joe St.Pierre Sketchbook 2025 provides a great opportunity to get a discounted price on remarques and sketches!
