Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: Something Seems Off #1
What it’s about: Have you ever thought you saw something out of the corner of your eye and waited for it to reveal itself? Maybe it was a shadow, or a bird, or a floater that crossed your vision. Maybe it was nothing at all. Or maybe it was a tiny creature from another dimension come to dismantle your body with its mind, crawl inside you and use you as a puppet. Maybe it wants to bring you back to its world where you will act as armor in a war it senses is on the horizon. Then again, it could befriend you and use its abilities to make your dreams come true.
A surreal, mostly silent sci-fi, adult, adventure originally serialized in Heavy Metal Magazine. Collected and expanded for the first time by Emmy-winning and Eisner-nominated comics creator Chris Anderson. This is the first of three 48+ page, oversized issues, printed on newsprint, like a comic book should be.

Project #2: Shockheaded Peter #1-3
What it’s about: Shockheaded Peter follows Ruby, a teenage girl with a literal broken heart. In the seemingly idyllic town of Winding Springs where tradition, wealth, and malice walk hand in hand, she spends her life being treated as broken and disposable.
But when the mysterious Shockheaded Peter arrives, the town’s carefully maintained façade begins to crack. One by one, bullies, tyrants, and abusers are struck by bizarre and horrifying punishments, transforming local gossip into panic and panic into myth. With fear spreading through the streets, Ruby finds herself drawn towards Peter’s secret and terrifying world.
As arcane justice collides with human corruption, Ruby is forced to choose between the life she once dreamed of and the burden of something far greater… a chance at finding her true purpose.
Unleashed with chaotic flair by creators/writers E.B. Kogan and Jessica Silvetti and the cinematic, expressive artwork of Giuseppe Sabè Di Stefano, Shockheaded Peter is a horror-fantasy about justice, trauma, and the seductive power of righteous anger.

Project #3: Going Gaga 2.0: The Return of Mother Monster
What it’s about: Mother Has Arrived! Fifteen years after Michael Fitzgerald Troy’s Lady Gaga Tribute comic book, GOING GAGA!, went viral at San Diego Comic Con, he has returned with a sequel and, this time, he’s not alone!
A pop art comic book tribute to Mother Monster that features pinups, parodies, homages, and short stories detailing and celebrating the love for the pop singing sensation.

Project #4: Off/Set: Unsettled
What it’s about: In 2022, a group of writers and artists from across the country were selected for the inaugural DC Comics Milestone Initiative, a talent-development program created to help bring the next generation of diverse voices into the comics industry. The work produced through that program eventually became DC’s New Talent Showcase: The Milestone Initiative #1, bringing 12 writers and 12 artists together in a single anthology.
They decided to get the band back together, and the result is OFF/SET: Unsettled, the first of an ongoing series of creator-driven anthologies.
This inaugural volume brings together seven original short black-and-white comics spanning straight horror, historical horror, suspense, comedy, supernatural fiction, and even ninja and samurai action. Some are frightening. Some are funny. Some are a little bit of both.

Project #5: Death Be Praised
What it’s about: Death Be Praised tells the story of astronaut James Tasker and what happens when he encounters the incredibly strange and mysterious world of Kourell. To say more would involve SPOILERS.
Told in the tradition of classic black-and-white television series such as The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits, Death Be Praised is a unique opportunity to think, be scared, and consider what the words “hope” and “mercy” mean.
