With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! Project #1: Death of Comics Bookcase, Vol. 2
What it’s about: At a strange school dance, a group of teens rediscover … the Comics Bookcase! They soon find themselves on an adventure filled with new worlds, oddball superheroes, sci-fi action, and much more!
Death of Comics Bookcase, Vol. 2 is a 48-page comic from writer Zack Quaintance (Macabre Valley) and artists Nick Cagnetti (Archie, Pink Lemonade), John P. Golden (Adventure Time), Luke Horsman (2000AD), Jeremy Hyler (Veefriends), Jim Lavery (Medal of Honor), and Ryan Lee (Rick and Morty, Mountainhead), with colorists Michael Woods and Dearhbla Kelly, plus design by John J. Hill and lettering by AndWorld Design!
This issue features an oddball superhero lost in a dead mall, comics pros running amok at Comic-Con, mankind fighting to survive the slop-pocalypse, a space war between apes and sharks, and more!

Project #2: Shrub: The Collected Edition – NOW LIVE!
What it’s about: GLAAD Media Award-winning and Eisner and Harvey Awards-nominated publisher and media outlet Fanbase Press is proud to announce Shrub, an 8-issue middle grade Graphic Medicine series which will be crowdfunded by the publisher on Kickstarter.
Readers will join Shrub who is, well… a shrub… for a cross-country adventure to Hollywood! Join Shrub and a grieving brother and sister as they hit the open road in search of connection. On their journey, pit stops, wacky plant enthusiasts, uprooting, and re-routing abound.
The series was created and written by Emmy Award nominee Shane Portman (Tumble Leaf, Shape Island), illustrated by Andy Alves (Cosmic Cadets), colored by Sophia Du and Celia FitzGerald, lettered by Oceano Ransford (Eisner Award-nominated Rikki), and with consultation from comics librarian Moni Barrette.
Shrub explores the various ways that we allow grief to take root, inspired by writer Shane Portman’s experience with the loss of his father. The series features “Letting Grief Take Root” essays written by individuals with a personal and/or professional connection to grief who relate Shrub’s story to their own lived experience.
Striving to destigmatize loss and promote understanding of the diverse ways that people of all ages grieve, Shrub: The Collected Edition will also feature:the collected trade paperback of the Shrub series, featuring contributions from leading comics and mental health voices, including a foreword by Eisner Award-winning writer David F. Walker (Big Jim and the White Boy, Bitter Root), an introduction by voice-over actor, writer, and producer Yuri Lowenthal (Peter Parker / Spider-Man – Marvel Rivals, Marvel’s Spider-Man), an afterword by Emmy and Eisner Awards-winning writer Amalia Levari (Over the Garden Wall), and a resource guide by Dr. David J. Schonfeld (Director, National Center for School Crisis and Bereavement at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles).

Project #4: My Neighbor Necromancer #1-4
What it’s about: My Neighbor Necromancer #4 is the penultimate issue of the dark, humorous, award-winning comic book for everyone ages 12 and up.
After a hard-fought battle against the Grimkins and Gatekeepers last issue, Jessie and Cirino are welcomed into the Body Farmer’s home. But the moment is short lived when they learn the true reason they were invited. Emotions run high as Rackus reveals her motivations for seeking the Hand of Death. And as Cirino faces his darkest moment, Jessie confronts Death itself in order to save her friends. But will it be enough?
