CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Dungeon Degenerates: The Battle for Brüttelburg,’ ‘Richard Fairgray: Comic Book Character,’ and ‘The Collected Letters of Courier Z’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).

Project #1: Dungeon Degenerates: The Battle for Brüttelburg

What it’s about: From the mind of Sean Äaberg, this goofy, morbid, dark and dirty fantasy is a Beat ‘Em Up, Action RPG that follows juvenile delinquent Salt, the runt of the gang, who has been thrown in the dungeon of the ancient, seething Fortress City Brüttelburg.

The base version of the classic-style RPG video game includes seven levels, five mini-games & PIT FIGHT, but we’ve got lots more in store with our campaign stretch goals! The base game levels are the Dungeon, the Verboten Zone, Goblin Town, the Pickle Factory, Pig Town, the Circus & the Pleasure District, and the mini-games included are Seaside Barrel Toss, Pickle Fever, Guzzling Goblins, Pigeon Po Po & Dance Mother!

Project #2: Richard Fairgray: Comic Book Character

What it’s about
: Way back in 2012 I started a comic strip. I wanted to write a memoir, but to be honest, I hadn’t lived much of a life back then. I was writing a daily strip that someone else was drawing, quietly making a graphic novel about robots, and navigating a pretty time consuming double life.

Last year, I discovered that all these strips that I thought were lost in a hard-drive malfunction were actually buried in a folder called ‘oLd computer unstroed’ and available to me in beautiful high resolution, just as my scanner intended.

So, I’m collecting the 24 best (and correctly shaped) strips into a printed book for the very first time, and including some commentary from me, some deeper explanations of jokes, and my usual level of oversharing about what was going on when I was drawing them.

Project #3: The Collected Letters of Courier Z

What it’s about
: The Collected Letters of Courier Z is a 52-page perfect bound collection, chronicling a series of key incidents in the life of put-upon postwoman Zara Z, the series of bad decisions and bad breaks that make up her life.

The Courier Z stories exist in a farflung sci-fi/crime universe with a strong resemblance to our own, as our beleaguered hero delivers to worlds swamped by capitalist excess, dark underbellies and annoying customers.

Combining the satirical worldview of Judge Dredd with the scuzzy sci-fi comedy of Red Dwarf, the high-concept worldhopping of Doctor Who and the job description of Postman Pat, Courier Z is here to make you laugh, cry and feel better about your own life.
