CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Frontier,’ ‘The Von Dingles,’ and ‘Immortal Studios: Turning the Page on Superheroes’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).

Project #1: Frontier

What it’s about: Life in space isn’t easy, but where else can you go? An exciting, new hard sci-fi graphic novel adventure with a cool chibi style.

It was inevitable. Our ravenous hunger for resources eventually stripped the Earth dry. Fortunately, our ambitious technology reached the point where we could turn our sights to the stars, which were full of materials to exploit. A New Frontier for a new gold rush.

In this rustic future, three souls eke out a living: Ji-Soo, a scientist with a passion for discovery, Camina, a feisty, battle-scarred mercenary, and Alex, an asteroid miner who has never been to Earth. Through their exhausting daily lives, they each dream individual dreams, following their own road toward that horizon. But when those paths cross, those dreams change trajectory, taking them all in a direction they couldn’t have imagined. What will become of humanity when it is completely disconnected from its cradle, the Earth?

Created by artist and author Guillaume Singelin, Frontier is a feature-length snapshot of life in the age of space exploration.  Built on a foundation of plausible technology and scientific advancement, Frontier explores the new, daily challenges of life in space: from the mundane task of farming to the political strife of corporate trademark and territory claims. Life in space isn’t easy… but where else can you go?

Project #2: The Von Dingles

What it’s about
: You probably know this creative team from Robot Chicken, or maybe Crossing Swords, Mickey and Friends holiday specials, The Simpsons couch gags, Dominion X with Steve Aoki, Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K., or maybe even some of those incredible costumes they wear on The Masked Singer.

In partnership with our buddies at Macroverse and the incredible artist, Patrick Williams, we are producing a full, 88-page graphic novel that will bring audiences into the world of The Von Dingles with all the drama, pathos, tragedy, love, poignancy and heroism that our fans have come to expect… along with insane action and humor of course!

The Von Diggles

Project #3: Turning the Page on Superheroes

What it’s about
: We are Immortal Studios, home of the Immortal Storyverse, the first ever wuxia-centered, interconnected comic book story universe. You might remember us from our previous successful Kickstarter campaigns (5 already fulfilled) and we’re back to bring you more of the stories you love—and to make a historic imprint in the process.

This campaign isn’t just about funding the printing of comic books. We are both presenting an authentic, diverse, and grounded alternative to the superhero saturation and building an entirely new, multicultural mythology that reflects our times. It’s ambitious but, in the wake of unprecedented global challenges, it is entirely necessary. This is a campaign about deepening human connections and empowering new possibilities through inspiring, remarkable storytelling.

And we’re not just bringing you one, but four new issues of the stories you’ve already shown us that you love, building the foundation of this epic Storyverse even further and even stronger.

We have The Adept, Chronicles of the Immortal Swordsmen, Fa Sheng: Origins, and Assassin G all lined up for their next big adventures — All in one shared universe. More Kung Fu, more Asian-American culture, and more wuxia fantasy action.
