Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: B-Sides
What it’s about: B-Sides is an original comic book series, drawing influence from music, film, and street culture.
At the center of it all is the B-Sides bar, the beating heart and soul of Sidetown, run by Gus, the barman, who lives in an old airstream in the parking lot. In front of the bar, on their bench, you’ll usually find Slippery Kev and his mate, Sketch – a Riff Rat. With their own speakeasy under the floorboards, The Riff Rats live among the other residents in their own, rat-sized world.
There’s a regular open mic night at the bar hosted by the slightly irregular Open Mike, who gets his name from being, well, open, too open… Next door is the vinyl record exchange, Sounds Good, run by the couple Sheena and Debs, who also run Sounds Good Radio from the back of the store. On the other side of the bar is Bodhi’s Taco truck, where you can get the best tacos in town, that is unless ‘surf’s up’, then Bodhi and his sous chef Nacho are nowhere to be seen.

Project #2: No Spell Lasts Forever #2
What it’s about: No Spell Lasts Forever is a six-issue comic series written by Sarah Cooke, with art by Eze Di Savino and Aimée Hawley. It is a noir urban fantasy about a magic user named Rosette Diamant who, after meeting an untimely death, makes a deal with the devil for a second chance at life. But can she follow through with it, and what will it mean for the fate of her eternal soul if not?
It’s a comic that has eye-grabbing displays of magic, romance, and some pretty exciting fight scenes. But most importantly, it’s a story that ultimately has a hopeful message about the power of overcoming self-doubt and allowing yourself to realize your potential.

Project #3: Reign of Dracula
What it’s about: In the post-apocalyptic hellscape that was once our planet, demons and vampires rule, and Lilith – the mother of all demons (a.k.a. DRACULA) – reigns over the pyre. Jonathan Harker and Arthur Holmwood lead a human resistance, while two daughters of Dracula – Lucy and Mina – journey through Heaven and Hell to find a way to save the universe before it’s too late!
This is a double-sized issue with 48 pages of horror-packed action, written by horror-master Rich Davis, and drawn/inked (and sometimes painted) by Les Lindon Garner.
