Project #1: The Cargo Rebellion: Those Who Chose Freedom
What it’s about: Bold and exciting, this graphic tale of mutiny on the high seas tells the true story of the Robert Bowne Rebellion of 1852—in which indentured Chinese men overthrew their captor and slave trader the American businessman Captain Leslie Bryson. This stand against American capitalism and the global economy that profited from exploitation and death. This often-overlooked part of history is brought to life through lively prose and meticulous research of archival material, with wonderful graphic illustration by Kim Inthavong. The Cargo Rebellion does lasting justice to the memory of the hundreds of thousands of Chinese and South Asian workers were indentured in the “coolie trade,” in hope of building a movement where human slavery can be abolished forever.

Project #2: Beardo 6
What it’s about: A new collection of the award-winning slice-of-life comic about the hilariously sweet misadventures of parenting. “When I ended Beardo in 2017, the series was at the peak of its popularity, largely due to the final strip which went viral with its sweet message about how fast time moves when you’re a parent. But when my son was born later that year, I realized that my slice-of-life comic about the misadventures of parenting wouldn’t be complete without him. So I spent the past few years developing ALL NEW material and am very proud to announce this 150-page paperback graphic novel collecting over 300 strips as well as bonus content!”

Project #3: Amputation Capital
What it’s about: Amputation Capital is a dystopian present where celebrities and influencers sell body parts on a publicly traded skin market. In the mean streets of the Hollywood Hills lurks a seedy salesman waiting for polite society to discard a seemingly rich and powerful person. Alfie is that salesman, and a damn good sales and acquisitions agent he is. Employing tactics of manipulation and weaponizing public opinion, Alfie offers you a contract. The contract is a simple exchange: Alfie wants your celebrity skin. Who would buy it? Maybe a rich fan, or a Hollywood museum, eccentric billionaire collectors, who knows.
