HISMSI CoverAll-ages comics are difficult to come by these days; finding a story that is both entertaining and appropriate for children and adults is no easy task.  But, fear not, readers!  Indie comic book publisher WE Comics is making a name for itself by producing all-ages titles, and the company is calling for fans to contribute to the Kickstarter campaign for How I Spent My Summer Invasion, an all-ages comic book series “about three friends who discover a secret hotel for intergalactic alien travelers.”

WE Comics released Issue #1 of How I Spent My Summer Invasion in the Spring of 2012, and writer Patrick Rieger and artist Mark Sean Wilson have been hard at work on the next two issues ever since.  In fact, the Kickstarter page offers sneak previews of the new characters and art that will appear in the upcoming stories.  With the help of crowdfunding, WE Comics will not only be able to publish Issues #2 and #3, but it will also have the opportunity to distribute the comics on a national level.  The creators of the series self-published the first issue with their own funds, and they are hoping that fans will demonstrate their support by ensuring its continuation.

Be sure to visit How I Spent My Summer Invasion‘s Kickstarter page to support indie comics, and don’t forget to check out the backer rewards, which include digital downloads and signed print copies of the issues, Summer Invasion t-shirts, and the chance to become a character in the story.  You can also learn more about WE Comics by visiting their website at wecomics.com.  The campaign closes on Wednesday, October 3rd, so be sure to donate soon!
