Paul and Corey Cross the Streams: Season 4, Episode 14 [Wildcard (Whatever the Hell You Want) – ‘Umberto D.’ (1952)]

Paul and Corey Cross the Streams is a bi-monthly podcast in which hosts Paul Pakler and Corey Pepper watch and review streaming content. It’s the Great American Podcast where two friends learn about life as they float down the river of streaming services.

It’s August, everyone is on vacation, and Paul and Corey wanted to take it easy. This month: Wild Card (Whatever the Hell You Want)! After the Fight Club debacle, Paul wanted to pick a movie that would restore Corey’s faith in humanity, so he chose a beloved little Italian neorealist classic about an old man and his dog, Umberto D (1952). It…um…didn’t work. It’s the first film both Paul and Corey have jointly hated in a long time.

This Month’s Theme: Wild Card (Whatever the Hell You Want)

This Episode’s Focus: Umberto D. (1952)

Host’s Choice: Paul Pakler

Streaming on Kanopy, HBO Max, Criterion Channel; Rent on iTunes, Amazon
