Happy Halloween, fellow Amazons and Wonder Woman enthusiasts. I can’t wait to see all of the amazing Wonder Woman and Amazon costumes sure to sweep the Halloween landscape today. We’re more than a year past Wonder Woman’s release date, and the character of Wonder Woman is more popular than ever. Sure, she’s always been a popular Halloween costume, but with the popularity of the DC live-action films, you can throw Amazons into the mix, too. I think the Amazons were the surprise breakout of the film. So popular, in fact, that Warner Bros. decided to add them to the Justice League film when it was already well into production.  I said it before and I’ll say it again: The Amazons deserve more exposure.

DC does have the Amazon-centric title, Historia, coming to us via their new top-shelf “Black Label” book line by the super star team of writer Kelly Sue Deconnick and artist Phil Jimenez.  If that’s as big a hit as I suspect it will be, it should garner more interest in an Amazon-themed show.  It’d be perfect for their DC streaming service. The history and modern life of the Amazons could be the next Game of Thrones for all we know.

The time of the heroine is upon us. Look how popular the female warriors in Black Panther turned out to be. I wouldn’t doubt they could carry a movie on their own.

I was thrilled when they announced Ruby Rose’s casting as Batwoman for the CW. I was even more excited after seeing the costume. It is, hands down, one of the best, most faithful adaptions from comics that I have ever seen for a costume. The hair is perfect along with the bright red lips and Bat symbol. I can’t wait to see her in action. Look out, Batman! You may have some fierce competition on your hands.

And where is Wonder Woman herself? You would think by now she’d get her own show on the CW or at least a guest starring role.  That said, with Aquaman coming up, Titans on streaming, a handful of Joker movies in the works, and a
sequel to Suicide Squad coming, it’s a pretty good time to be a DC Comics fan.

We still want more Wonder Woman!
