Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!
Project #1: Mugshots
What it’s about: Mugshots is a 32-page, neo-noir, one-shot comic book in the tradition of wonderful crime series such as Criminal by Ed Brubaker & Sean Phillips, Brian Azzarello & Eduardo Risso’s 100 Bullets, and the Darwyn Cooke Parker adaptations. Written by Jordan Thomas (Frank At Home On The Farm from Scout Comics) with incredible art by Chris Matthews, Mugshots is a British crime story about love, hate, betrayal and revenge filled with shotgun-toting thieves, deadly villains and danger lurking round each turn – not everyone can make it out alive.
The coolest backer reward: The coolest reward is having a full custom comic book made by Mugshots creative team Jordan Thomas and Chris Matthews starring you and your friends in a genre of your choice, including a digitally painted cover, 20 pages of interior art and the whole thing professionally printed by CPUK.

Project #2: Serious: Through the Fog
What it’s about: The story is about young people forced to face their toughest challenge yet when a pandemic unexpectedly hits their world. The manga will explore the impact on Blake Serious’ entrepreneurial dream, as well as the mental toll taken on each member of his team. Together, they must navigate the fog of fear, chaos and self-doubt to continue on the path to achieving their goals.
The coolest backer reward: You (or even a pet) can become an anthropomorphic character in the manga story!

Project #3: WesterNoir
What it’s about: Josiah Black has been many things; cowherd, drifter, gunslinger and sheriff and then everything changed and he finds himself hunting monsters that only he can see. This TPB collects the first four issues of a book that has been described by a reader as They Live meets Deadwood.
The coolest backer reward: A few of the reward tiers include a limited number of personalised WANTED posters. This will show the backer’s Wild West name and face on the WANTED poster, drawn by series artist Gary Crutchley. We will also use these in future issues of the comic itself.
