Fanboy Comics readers recently learned a great deal about comic book artist Gerry Kissell in an interview discussing his projects, Iron Sky and Code Word: Geronimo. Now, Kissell has decided to bring a personal and relevant story to light in his upcoming graphic novel, Vindicated, Inc. In an attempt to bring the issues that plague our military vertans to light, including the effects of PTSD and physical injury, Kissell decided to create a story that centered around an emotionally scarred and physically disabled war veteran. With the story in mind, Kissell and bestselling author Shane Moore (Apocalypse of Enoch) set out to create a gritty, touching, humorous, and tragic graphic novel about a wounded soldier who has to lose everything in order to find the true warrior he needs to be. Now, Kissell and more have taken to Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds to make this project come to life.
Have you ever had a new neighbor move in, and your curiosity about this new individual cannot be squelched? This is the case for Aden, a fallen-from-grace reporter in the upcoming indie film Personal Demons. Aden may have just found the story of a lifetime in his new neighbor, Seth, an acquitted murderer who may not be so innocent. He sees in Seth something else: A released convict who may not be the innocent victim he's playing. When Aden's idle investigating stirs a cat-and-mouse game between the two men—it becomes a game that neither may survive.
If the concept of this film has piqued your interest, the filmmakers behind Personal Demons are looking for your help to fund the production of the film through Kickstarter. Creator Adam Cosco is attempting to raise $100,000 through Kickstarter prior to July 13th, and you can play a part in making this dream a reality.
As Fanboy Comics continues to inform its readers about exciting Kickstarter campaigns that are worthy of your hard-earned money, there may be rare opportunities when we will highlight campaigns that have already reached their desired goals. One such campaign has come to our attention, and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did!

Did you know that about 1 in 100 adults – or between 2 to 3 million adults in the United States – currently has OCD? There are also at least 1 in 200 – or 500,000 – kids and teens that have OCD. This is about the same number of kids who have diabetes. For those who may not be familiar with the disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a disorder of the brain and behavior, and it causes severe anxiety in those affected. With so many people struggling with the challenges caused by OCD, one man took it upon himself to both educate and entertain readers by sharing his own candid and humorous look at life with OCD. In The OCD Handbook, writer Jefferson Jordan talks about growing up with OCD, how he developed it, and what he has learned about life from it. He also has fun listing his more epic meltdowns, designing the perfect OCD bathroom, and teaching readers how to open a bathroom door without using your hands. While Jordan hopes that his book will be relatable to readers with and without OCD, he first needs your support to print the book through his Kickstarter campaign.
The popular crowdfunding website Kickstarter has given a voice to independent creators and entrepreneurs throughout the world, providing them with a platform to share their projects and ideas with a larger audience. In addition, Kickstarter has empowered audiences with the ability to lend their support to causes in which they believe. By providing individuals with the opportunity to donate their hard-earned money to specific projects in order to ensure their success, people are truly making a difference in the world around them. For that reason, the new Kickstarter campaign for Arcana's graphic novel, The Steam Engines of Oz, is even more impactful, as it imparts a strong message about how people, regardless of where they come from, or their station in life, can affect change in a larger world.
Bluewater Productions is one of the top publishers of independent comic books and graphic novels, often focusing on biographies of celebrities past and present. One such biographical comic book is standing apart from the others, as Bluewater has decided to commemorate the historical event in June of 1969 that changed the face of the gay rights movement forever. In The Stonewall Riots, scheduled for release on the 44th anniversary of the infamous New York City riots this coming June, writer Michael Troy and artist David T. Cabrera capture the events and culture leading up to the riots, the incident itself, and its historical significance as the genesis of the Gay Pride Movement. The events at Stonewall led to riots and demonstrations that opened the dialogue and fight for the basic human rights of the homosexual community.
Pirates, ninjas, robots, and spies! When time and space start to fold in on themselves, these four different factions are found in a struggle to get to safety when they're sucked into another dimension, the monster zone! Mighty Heroes and the Monster Zone! is an upcoming game created by Mighty Heroes Games which incorporates a mix of deck building, traditional board games, tabletop miniatures, and RPG elements to create a unique feel. Players have a set goal of escaping with their lives and can choose to work together or make one another's lives difficult. Each faction handles differently, providing unique abilities such as the pirate's ability to steal cards from other players while the ninja can sneak by would-be attackers. All of these heroes level up during the course of play, gaining access to new special abilities. Over time, the company intends to expand upon the available factions, but stretch goals can lead to unlocking the Knights and Aliens factions, as well as additional monster mini sets. Each faction comes with a board that explains the rules and provides unique faction abilities, a deck of cards for the faction, and a beautiful miniature created by Reaper.
Prepare for a high-flying Steampunk adventure in Tinker, a new sci-fi fantasy webseries that is currently crowdfunding through Kickstarter. Tinker is a series about the Tinkers, a father/daughter team of genius mechanics who live in the overpopulated city of San Francisco. In an alternate history run by bulky and rather finicky machinery, the Tinkers are masters of their craft and are often called upon to repair, invent, and even retrofit anything from large engines to personal wrist watches. When a wealthy noblewoman, Lady Cushing, hires the duo, they are thrust into a world of air ships, danger, and excitement in which the balance of worldly power rests unaware in the tool-calloused hands of the Tinker family. Featuring a stylish Steampunk wardrobe, props, sets, digital environments, and an original score and soundtrack of Steampunk-inspired music, Tinker aims to evolve the genre into a multi-ethnic, culture-exploring, collection of stories that does for Steampunk what Star Trek did for science fiction.

From paintings that seek revenge to mad scientists that crossbreed beach babes with fish, the things Uncle Alice will share are just plain creepy.
If you are anything like me, you have played a lot of tabletop RPGs in your lifetime. Over the years, you’ve collected miniatures, battle maps, and all sorts of other tools to improve your gaming experience. The one thing I’ve never been able to get right is audio accompaniment to add to the game. I’ve tried adding movie soundtracks or fantasy music to create a mood, but there have always been issues where the wrong song comes on at the wrong time and suddenly the love theme starts playing during your villain’s big speech, causing the players to break character in fits of laughter.
