Well, do you want the good news or the bad news first?
Okay, the good news:
I thought this week would be the last for IDW Publishing’s TMNT Dimension X comic book mini-series, but I was wrong. I don’t say that a lot, so get it while you can (or at least while more issues are on the way…).
The bad news:
Krang’s assassin, Hakk-R, is still after our heroes and the witnesses that would put General Brain in jail for the rest of his life! Or maybe the rest of his brainwaves? Is that how that works?
Why, just last week, in TMNT Dimension X #3, the Turtles literally wrestled their way out of tricky situation. They almost had to kidnap Stump and Sling off their own asteroid, one in which they built their own wrestling business out of after Krang the Brain (I like coming up with new names for the old gumball!) destroyed their home planet. Okay, so Sling and Stump sold their planet to the General to profit off their own asteroid; they deserved to be kidnapped and used as witness against him! Sounds like another dictator we all know…
This week, in TMNT Dimension X #4, our heroes-in-a-half-shell visit Palmadise City, a Vegas-like city with both fun and danger around every corner. And distractions. Don’t forget the distractions!
Now—what was I saying? Oh right! The Turtles. Palmadise City. Vegas. And a duck! Ace the Duck to be exact. Ace fought against Krang and his cronies in the war, and yet, he was witness to the General’s outrage when he shot down all of his friends after their surrender. Not what the rules of war usually call for. But now, Ace has pissed off some pretty dangerous baddies in Palmadise, so getting him out of this city isn’t exactly going to be paradise for our friends…
This week’s story is brought to you by Ryan Ferrier, featuring art by Chris Johnson, and colors by Mark Englert. As a reader and long-time Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle fan, you can tell that this trio worked splendidly together, bringing fun, cool, new characters into the mix, while also writing about some place we can all relate with. Having just been to Vegas a few weeks ago, this issue was especially exciting for me. But although I can’t go back to Vegas each week, I’m more thrilled about next week’s Dimension X comic.
Until then,
