All right. If you haven’t been reading any of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics, what are you waiting for? With their ongoing storyline now the longest-running TMNT comic book series ever, the creators must be doing something right! Am I right?!

Well, now that TMNT #73 has taken our heroes-in-a-half-shell to new outreaches of the universe in order to put General Krang behind bars for good, the Turtles are also tasked with finding witnesses to testify against the evil brain himself. All the while an assassin, Hakk-R, is on the move to kill anyone who stands in Krang’s way.

Which brings us to the latest comic book series from TMNT creator Bobby Curnow, TMNT Dimension X. Meet B’een. A beautiful, blog-like creature who understands emotions better than our own emotions do. But after Hakk-R convinces B’een that our reptile friends are the “actual assassins,” can the Turtles save their star witness before he becomes a has-b’een? (Sorry. I couldn’t resist.)

Move over, Krang! Writer Paul Allor is the real brain behind this new series. And Pablo Tunica’s artwork helps to make this first issue feel nothing less than part of the official TMNT universe. If this dynamic duo continues to work together, I’m looking forward to the rest of this mini-series as much as I’m looking forward to the next Star Wars movie. Which—if you don’t know me—is a lot.

See you in the next dimension, Turtle fans!
