Have you ever been part of a conundrum that lasted waaaaaay tooooooo loooong!?  Well, I bet Marty McFly knows how you feel…

Last month in IDW Publishing’s ongoing Back to the Future comic books, we finally finished a six-issue miniseries called “Continuum Conundrum.”  Taking place after one of the greatest film trilogies of all time, Marty yearned for another adventure, which he got when the Doc appeared out of no where and had no idea who he was nor when in time he had come from.  The rest of the spring and summer sent Marty and his girlfriend, Jennifer, on an adventure they’d never forget, traveling from the 1980s to the present day (2015), and even to the future of 2035.  Talk about a conundrum, indeed!

This month, however, storywriters John Barber and Bob Gale are back with new, alternate timelines, this issue being called, “How Needles Got Here.”  And after Jennifer ran Needles off the road in “Continuum Conundrum” (where he expectedly crashed into some sort of manure), Needles is out to seek revenge!  But when we take a look back at how Marty and Needles first met, McFly should be the one seeking out revenge…

As always, John Barber and Bob Gale make an exciting read.  It’s always fun to read about backstories of characters who don’t get enough screen time on film.  But comic books are the perfect medium to showcase just that, and Barber and Gale do so almost flawlessly.  With artwork by the talented Emma Vieceli, including colors by Jose Luis Rio, this entire series should be owned by every Back to the Future fan, as each issue continues to be a collector’s gem!

Now, if only I had my own flux capacitor to make a time machine, so that I could see who gets revenge on whom next month…

Until then,
