After running off to chase Identity Thief and get her looks back, Ruby needs to mend her relationships with her new teammates. She’s also struggling to tell Summer that she has reservations about adding her BFF to the regular rotation. The perky co-ed wants to help, but Ruby understands that their fights aren’t games, and they can have serious consequences. Meanwhile, Cabra Cini continues to battle The Rook’s minions to cross through The Infinite and track down Tyler. The two leading ladies are spinning ever closer, and the collision will be intense!

Geek-Girl #16: Exodus #2 focuses on tying up Ruby’s loose ends while Cabra Cini fights her demons (figuratively and literally) to get from Point A to Point B; however, the introduction of friction between Ruby and Summer, her most loyal friend and fan, intrigues me since our heroine never has been good at navigating delicate social issues. Maybe it’s time to grow emotionally and learn how to protect someone without crushing them completely.

C Granda is back in the artist seat for this installment of Ruby and Cabra Cini’s journey, and the artwork continues to vibrantly pop off the page. Geek-Girl doesn’t get any action scenes this issue, but Cabra Cini more than makes up for it. Aficionados of dynamic artwork have a lot to enjoy with her portions this round.

Geek-Girl #16: Exodus 2 ends with two surprising reveals that I had not anticipated. (One of them has been foreshadowed in previous issues, but I missed the clues!) How will everyone react to Cabra Cini’s appearance in Maine? We’ll have to wait for future issues to see how everything hits the fan!
