Summer’s officially part of Geek-Girl’s team, complete with a snazzy yellow-and-black body suit, and the rest of the gang wants one-of-a-kind Summer supe costumes to stand out when fighting crime. Meanwhile, Cabra Cini has been trapped in The Infinite by The Rook in a dastardly plan to prevent her from abusing his domain further. If she breaks her way out, Geek-Girl and Co. may be in for a collision course with a more powerful foe than they’ve ever faced.

Cabra Cini / Geek-Girl: Exodus #1 expands on the hints set up in previous stories with both heroines and sets things in motion to get the leading ladies into the same place at the same time. The pages are higher on exposition than high-intensity action, but the details flesh out the presumed main players. I’m curious about where this will go, because there are a few strong possibilities with very different consequences.

I believe there is a new artist creating the panels for this Cabra Cini and Geek-Girl story, and the artwork continues to add to the reading experience. Cabra Cini and Geek-Girl possess extremely different vibes, so switching from dark and gritty to fun and lighthearted requires skill. The coloring helps emphasize the tonal changes, as well, which has always been a strong point for the many iterations of Geek-Girl.

Cabra Cini / Geek Girl: Exodus #1 provides a solid introduction to a new chapter for both these strong female leads. They are very different women with radically opposite world views, so watching them work together may get exciting! Seeds of the plot have been planted, but only future issues will tell us what plants will grow.
