The following is an interview with Jordan Kroeger regarding the Kickstarter campaign launch for the comic book, The Fist vs. Inner Peace. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with Kroeger about his creative process in bringing the world and characters to life, the incredible backer rewards available for supporters, and more!
Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: Congratulations on the recent launch of your Kickstarter campaign for The Fist vs. Inner Peace! For those who may be unfamiliar, what can you share with us about the story’s premise?
Jordan Kroeger: It’s a sci-fi/fantasy/action/comedy about a super-soldier-turned-pacifist who arm wrestles for the fate of the universe!
BD: What can you tell us about your creative process in bringing this world and characters to life on the the page?
JK: I only put something in the book if I think it will be fun to draw. The creative process is the key to my comics. I want to try something new on every page. If it’s not fun to draw, there’s no point to it.
BD: Why do you feel that crowdfunding has been such a valuable resource to ensuring the success of today’s comic book creators?
JK: Nothing beats having the actual, physical book in your hands. Crowdfunding tends to be the main resource to make that happen.
BD: In light of the crowdfunding campaign, are there any particular backer rewards or tiers that you would like to highlight for our readers?
JK: Yes! The Fist vs. Inner Peace is a continuation of a mini-series I created called The Fist. If you’ve never read the original run, you can pick up a trade paperback of those issues, as well as the new oversized comic!
BD: Lastly, what would you like to tell readers who want to learn more about the The Fist vs. Inner Peace?
JK: Check out the trailer I animated at the top of the Kickstarter page to understand the vibe of the book!
