The following is an interview with writer Anthony Stokes regarding the recent launch of a Kickstarter campaign for the comic book series, Intrusive Thoughts #1. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with Stokes about his shared creative process in bringing the story and characters to life, the exciting backer rewards available to supporters of the campaign, and more!

Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: You recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for Intrusive Thoughts #1.  For those who may be unfamiliar, what can you share with us about the premise of this series?

Anthony Stokes: It’s about an orphan who has migraines, night terrors, and sleep paralysis. One day, his sleep paralysis attacks one of his classmates which starts a mystery about where the demon came from and what happened to his parents.

BD: What can you tell us about your shared creative process in working with D.N.S. and Mina Mortal to bring this story to life?

AS: DNS had done a bunch of covers for my first series, Decay, so I was already familiar with his art style. This was the first series that I wrote with an artist in mind, so I tailored the story to his art style. He brings a great dark whimsy almost like a Neil Gailman or Tim Burton. And Mira’s lettering matches his style perfectly.

BD: How many issues do you anticipate releasing in this first story arc?

AS: This will be a six-issue series. I’m thinking of combining 5 and 6 into one mega issue though.

BD: In light of the Kickstarter campaign, are there any particular backer rewards that you would like to highlight for our readers?

AS: There’s a $40 bundle where you get a physical copy of Intrusive Thoughts and copies of Issues 1-3 of my first series, Decay. It’s over 100 pages and it’s a great deal. The two series pair perfectly together.

BD: Are there any other projects on which you are working that you would like to share with readers?

AS: I’m writing a sequel to Intrusive Thoughts that I’m very excited about. We need Intrusive Thoughts to get funded first of course before I get too far ahead of myself.

BD: Lastly, what would you like to tell fans who want to learn more about the Intrusive Thoughts Kickstarter campaign and your other work?

AS: Definitely find me on twitter (@stokesthewriter). I give updates on all my projects.
