The following is an interview with bestselling writer Harry Hunsicker regarding the upcoming release of the novel, The Life and Death of Rose Doucette, through Oceanview Publishing. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with Hunsicker about his creative approach to crafting a thrilling murder mystery, what readers may take away from the story’s themes, and more!

Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: Congratulations on the upcoming release of The Life and Death of Rose Doucette! For those who may be unfamiliar, what can you share with us about the premise of this thrilling murder mystery?

Harry Hunsicker: A private detective is forced to partner with the man who broke up his marriage when he tries to solve the murder of his ex-wife.

BD: How would you describe your creative process in crafting this mystery/thriller? I would imagine that crafting the narrative and staying 3 steps ahead of your reader is quite the challenge!

HH: I’m a big believer in outlining. It takes a lot (but not all) of the guess work out of writing a story. When you wake up in the morning, you never have to wonder about what you’re going to work on for the day.

BD: What makes Oceanview Publishing the perfect home for this story?

HH: Oceanview has been a wonderful partner in bringing Rose Doucette to people. They are very hands on and have a deep understanding of their customer base. I couldn’t be happier with our relationship.

BD: At Fanbase Press, our #StoriesMatter initiative endeavors to highlight the impact that stories can have on audiences of various mediums. How do you feel that Dylan’s story may connect with and impact today’s readers?

HH: Dylan represents an individual overcoming his own trauma in order accomplish a goal greater that himself. I think that will resonate with readers.

BD: Are there any other projects that you would like to highlight for our readers?

HH: I’ve just finished a new crime thriller that is something of a departure for me. That’s all I’m going to say. We’ll see what happens with it.

BD: Lastly, what is the best way for our readers to find more information about The Life and Death of Rose Doucette and your other work?

HH: Visit my website (www.harryhunsicker.com) and sign up for my newsletter or follow me on social media.
