After such a solid relaunch, Wonder Woman’s monthly title has suffered since the departure of her initial creative team. I know that Greg Rucka, Liam Sharp, and Nicola Scott set the bar very high, but not too high to match and keep the momentum going. A bevy of rotating artists and disappointing storylines have left fans a little cold, and this shouldn’t be the case.



We love Wonder Woman! We want Wonder Woman! We want to pay money for exciting storylines and great art. We want to learn more about Diana and see her continue to shine in the spotlight.


Speaking of great stories with great art, why not give Wonder Woman the All-Star treatment? Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely gave us arguably one of the best Superman stories of all time with All-Star Superman. Batman has an All-Star book designed for top talent to tell top stories. Where’s the Trinity equality?  Superman got his. Batman has had 2 (if you count the much-lamented All-Star Batman and Robin by Frank Miller, which I do).  So, where’s the Wonder love?


It was supposed to happen in the mid 2000s to be written and drawn by Adam Hughes. Deadlines or editorial differences or both made the series go bye bye. If there’s any chance this could still happen, it would be major! The preliminary art (what little we saw) was beautiful. But it’s not likely to happen as Adam seems to have moved on from DC.


Giver her an All-Star monthly with top-tier talent, sophisticated stories, and beautiful comic book art. I don’t think that’s asking too much, do you?  As long as I’m dreaming, how cool would it be to have Patty Jenkins or Allan Heinberg write a story arc? Now that would be All-Star, indeed. Now that I’m in a deep sleep, could it possibly lure back great talents like George Perez and Brian Bolland?  I’m sure Phil Jimenez has a few good Wonder Woman stories left in him.


They might as well make me the editor of Wonder Woman the way I’m going on. Seriously, make me the editor.


I still have faith in DC. Liam Sharp’s Brave and Bold series with Diana and Batman teaming up for a magical murder mystery looks amazing, and we have Wonder Woman Earth One by Grant Morrison and Yannick Paquette just around the corner.  So, there’s a lot to look forward to. Just a little more love for the monthly is all I ask.


Oh, wait… isn’t Brian Michael Bendis going to DC? It would be awesome if the father of Jessica Jones gave us his Wonder Woman. And with great Bendis, go great artists – so there’s that.
