Anyone who follows my insanity knows I have a soft spot in my heart for blondes, and Thor is no exception. I think I have my brother to thank for introducing me to the God of Thunder. A girl down the street from us used to sell him used comics for two or three cents, depending on whether it had its cover or not. It used to chap my ass that she would write the price on the book with a marker. (Even at a young age, I was an elitist for quality.)

Thor was always one of the books in the pile and always one of my favorite to look at. What’s not to love? It had gorgeous art from Kirby, a leading man who went back and forth from heaven to the real world on a rainbow bridge, and an immortal that let Spider-Man call him “Goldilocks.”

I was pleased as punch when not only did Thor get the movie treatment, but it was good! Bonus that he will appear in Joss Whedon’s Avengers alongside equally dreamy Captain America. The comics are even pretty decent lately, though I’m not a big fan of the chain mail. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Kirby’s design was flawless. Forsooth!

Michael Troy is a deeply superficial person. Michael has contributed to the Lady Gaga comic book from Bluewater Productions and has his hand in various other upcoming projects. Michael has performed stand-up comedy at all of the major comedy clubs in Los Angeles and is making his triumphant return to the main stage of The Comedy Store in September. Sitting alongside industry heavyweight Phil Jimenez at the “Divas and Lassoes” panel for the 2010 San Diego comic-con, Michael maintains and cherishes his “underground” status. A staunch believer in Blonde Ambition, Michael hopes his new comic about shallow blonde super heroes in Los Angeles, The Blonde Squad, will set the world on fire (or at least brighten it a bit).
