When Fanbase Press is not providing you with the latest in geek news and entertainment, the Fanbase Press staff hopes to offer our readers a myriad of opportunities to give back to the community. We love reading comics, watching movies, and playing video games, but we are never happier than when we are able to help others in need. With Geeks Care: How You Can Help, Fanbase Press will provide you a variety of causes that would greatly appreciate your time.

For the latest edition of Geeks Care: How You Can Help, the Fanbase Press staff would like to share news about an upcoming event at the Open Space Cafe that will benefit the Wags & Walks Animal Rescue and The Kids in the Spotlight Foundation. Taking place on Saturday, January 27, 2018, at 7:30 p.m., The Dog and Funny Show with Doug Bass is a comedy variety show featuring the best comedians/actors in the country, and it all benefits animal rescue in the Los Angeles area. The show features stand-up, storytelling, improv/sketch, interviews, games/prizes, short films, musical acts, and – of course – cute animals!

Special guest Claudia Wells (Jennifer, Back to the Future) will be making an appearance, and the Delorean “Time Machine” will be on display for photo opportunities with a suggested donation of $10 going towards The Kids in the Spotlight Foundation. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Wags & Walks Animal Rescue, a non profit organization that aims to break the stigma that rescue dogs are damaged goods and to help decrease the number of dogs euthanized in local shelters by showing the community that you can find wonderful dogs of all breeds and sizes through rescue. Adoption and fostering information will also be on hand for anyone interested in getting involved.

Comedian Doug Bass will be hosting the event, and comedians Theo Von, Katierose Donohue, Mark Primiano, James Eady, Mike Falzone, Michele Traina, Andie Bolt, and Tommy Rico will be performing.

We hope that you will stop by The Dog and Funny Show with Doug Bass for this worthy initiative!

If you have a volunteer opportunity or an important cause that could use the assistance of a few geeks, please email the details to barbra (at) fanbasepress (dot) com.
