Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).

Project #1: Oracles

What it’s about: A graphic novel journey through the wilderness to face the complications and complexities of grief and loss.

When the everyday becomes overwhelming, our protagonist begins to travel through the world to find wonder and a true escape—and to discover more about themself. As they navigate through the forest, the ocean, the desert, and the mountains in a trip of peace, turmoil and reflection, the narrator encounters mushrooms, sage creatures, whirlpools and learns more about themselves in the process. With gorgeous art and lyrical, contemplative text, this graphic novel is a passage from uncertainty to joy and understanding.

The Skim KS

Project #2: The Skim

What it’s about
: Set against the neon glow and empty backroads of late-1980s Nevada, The Skim is a hard-boiled crime thriller told across three issues, a brutal, character-driven heist story about loyalty, family, and the price of vengeance.

From writer Matt Garvey, with art by Martin Hrastić, and colors by Jim Clarke, The Skim asks a simple question with deadly consequences: How do you rob a casino without robbing a casino? The answer lies in the skim,  the untraceable mob money quietly siphoned out of Las Vegas each month.
