Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).

Project #1: The Same Water

What it’s about: A brand new atmospheric horror story, told across 100 pages in a pocket-sized book.

This is a story about the dangers of standing still. A woman looks out her window one day and sees that the ocean in front of her house has stopped moving. In this surreal and haunting story, she reflects on the tiny compromises she has made to stay still and ventures out to claim the only choice she has left.

Project #2: SoulD #1

What it’s about
: SoulD is an urban cyberpunk-fantasy comic about the corporate capitalization of the soul, the rebels who fight against it and the destructive nature of addiction.

You can buy people’s property. You can buy people’s time. But what if you could buy their souls?

After years of fascinated study, researcher Iona Camran unlocks the magical secrets of hunite, a mysterious soul crystal grown from the dead, despite her sister Eilidh’s disgust at her sacrilegious pursuit of this mystery. Now it’s worth something, Iona’s megacorp employer intends to wring every nugget of hunite out of every corpse. Unfortunately, Eilidh comes into possession of a vast hunite statue, courtesy of guerrilla soul-carving artist DeathTwister, and finds herself besieged by corporate interests. Iona must finally choose between her obsession and her family. Hope she decides before it’s too late.
