Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).

Project #1: Tell Them of Us

What it’s about: Tell Them of Us is a comic anthology that explores the last recorded voices of human civilization, witnessed through the lens of an alien crew discovering a hastily assembled digital archive of our memories: Our attempt, as a species, at both legacy and warning, created in the face of oblivion.

These collected experiences are tales of triumphs, struggles, hopes, and harsh realities that define the human condition.

In contrast to so many “post-apocalypse” stories where a portion of humanity survives to learn from our mistakes, this book poses an important question: What would we do, and who would we choose to be, if the world was ending and destruction was certain? What is our legacy? How would we wish to be remembered, knowing this was our opportunity to save something of who we were? What do we truly leave behind?

These stories imaginatively answer that question and serve as both bittersweet requiem and clarion call for readers to consider a better future in the here and now.

Project #2: Zero Ghost

What it’s about
: Kira Kaine is out for revenge, even if it costs her soul. Literally.

For centuries, the Five Families have operated in the shadows, using hidden magic and sudden violence to dominate the criminal underworld. Kira is heir to the Kaine family, the strongest of them all.

But on her eighteenth birthday, unknown enemies slaughter the Kaine family, intending to use Kira as a sacrifice to attain ultimate power. What they didn’t anticipate was Kira breaking free, leading to her being accidentally bonded to an angel of death named Shrike.

With Shrike, she has the power to enact bloody vengeance on the people who betrayed her family, but every use of his power burns away a part of Kira’s very soul. Can she find the truth and her revenge before Shrike destroys her entirely?

Project #3: The Universal Flaws of Robotics

What it’s about
: The smell of iron emanates from blood, and humanity has always tried to purge it. We have fought, we have created, and we have seen ourselves in our creation, a hazy mirror reflecting what we choose to ignore. In an iron face, we see the best and worst of mankind: the search for connection, the kindness, the grace … but also cold detachment, cruelty, and love distorted through metallic shine. For years we have dreamed of the final version of this mirror, the ultimate simulacrum of humanity: We have dreamed of robots.

Universal Flaws of Robotics is a comics anthology collecting 19 stories all about automata. Our amazing team of creators have spun electric dreams of romance, adventure, horror, humor, and more. Dive in, and discover that no two robots are built quite the same.
