Project #1: Cicada Samurai
What it’s about: Cicada Samurai is a gory/horror/action story about an immortal samurai cicada who must fight to protect his brood from terrifying, bloodthirsty monsters – including the nightmarish Cicada Killing Hornet (Google that… it’s a real thing… and then good luck sleeping tonight…).

Project #2: The Summer in Your Blood
What it’s about: The Summer in Your Blood is a graphic novella by Mark Bouchard and Desolina Fletcher, with letters by Micah Myers, edited by Emmett Nahil. This summer camp slasher features Kelsey, a nineteen-year-old senior counselor who’s just trying to get with the non-binary counselor Javi before the end of the summer, when her little brother Eric’s breakup turns into her biggest problem. The story combines the sibling relationship drama of Fear Street: 1978 with the slight supernatural bend of Liz Suburbia’s Sacred Heart and the brutality of Mandy in an effort to interrogate gender in the same vein as Sleepaway Camp and Joey Comeau’s Bible Camp Bloodbath.

Project #3: General Strike: Calexit & Other Tales of the Good Fight
What it’s about: 146 days of picket signs & stress &… comics? That’s right! A gang of striking writers made a comic book for you during The Great WGA Strike of 2023 and it’s AWESOME! Brought to you by the mad scientists behind the Calexit comic, General Strike is a set of badass genre stories about FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT!
“But isn’t the strike over??” We’re launching on the heels of a major victory for the WGA with this tentative deal… and, for that, THIS COMIC IS A CELEBRATION! BUT the work’s not done! SAG is still on strike! The creative community is still struggling! People are still losing their homes! And the Strike Funds need to be ready because The Animation Guild, IATSE, and The Teamsters may need help next!
