Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support).
Project #1: Midnight Tiger: The Complete Origin
What it’s about: A beautiful 100+ page hardcover collecting issues 0 through 3 of Midnight Tiger! Gavin Shaw is a Blerd. He loves anime, reads comics, fanboys over superhero culture, plays Minecraft, and is rarely seen without his equally nerdy besties Ryan and Dex. In the streets of Apollo Bay, blerds are considered soft and are guaranteed to get no respect. In a city where respect is the currency for survival, you triple your odds of being a target.
At the same time, Gavin has deep roots in the criminal underworld of Apollo Bay. On a DNA level. He’s had a disproportionate amount of exposure to the ravages of that lifestyle and watched the people he cared about be systematically eviscerated. Raised with a strong moral code by his kind-hearted father, Gavin has a certain sensitivity to the suffering of others struggling to survive in his community. A community that seems invisible to the rest of the world.
Everything changes one night when Gavin finds the hero Lionsblood gravely injured in an alley and decides to step in to save his life. It was a decision that changes Gavin’s life and the city of Apollo Bay forever. From the events of that night, the teen emerges with superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, durability, healing, heightened senses, and other abilities that seem to be evolving! Now with the ability to fight for those who can’t defend themselves, Gavin sneaks out as ….MIDNIGHT TIGER! Apollo Bay’s first and only superhero and new beacon of hope!

Project #2: Basement Show
What it’s about: Basement Show is described as “DIY punk meets Poltergeist meets Hellblazer #27.” Featuring 25 pages of story, this black-and-white one-shot comic is a love letter to both punk rock and horror, featuring nods and homages to classic bands and films.
Local three-piece DIY punk rock band Feasters is preparing to play a Halloween night basement show at an abandoned house with a tragic history. None of them particularly believe the rumors about the place being haunted, chalking it up to urban myth overtaking the truth. However, they do see opportunity. After all, what better way to attract a crowd of punks, horror fans, and morbidly curious individuals alike?
Many turn out to see the show, including a mysterious young woman with closer ties to the old house than anyone realizes. Before the show can begin, dark, supernatural forces are unleashed into the house. What was supposed to be a night of music and moshing quickly turns into a fight for survival as the band desperately tries to escape the house of horrors.

Project #3: Sapphic Pulp: Collected Tales of Love and Desire
What it’s about: Sapphic Pulp is a 120-page collection of 10 short erotic comics from writer Natasha Alterici, with art, covers, editing, and letters from a team of incredible queer artists. It’s at times hot and silly, and other at others steamy and sentimental, but it’s always Sapphic as hell. This work is intended for mature audiences.
While Natasha will be drawing a couple of the stories, all the others are drawn by one of six amazing queer artists, all of whom were hand-selected for this project. Each story is paired with (or in some cases, written specifically for) an artist to suit their style and interests. The stories range in length from 10-16 pages which is almost double what similar anthologies have done, a satisfying length that doesn’t leave you wishing for more.
