Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!
Project #1: Liminality: A Silent Graphic Novel About Depression
What it’s about: Using physical and emotional liminal space, an exploration of depression expressed with illustration. Ft isolation monster. A person goes about their daily life. It is boring, cyclic. They are then swallowed up and enter the “innerworld.” Here they sink, fight, cage, are chased by, swallowed by their monster. They then must find a way out of the darkness and haul their monster up to “overworld.” They then learn how to accept and live with their monster going forward. Although this may be a hard journey to take, I want it to be an uplifting one.

Project #2: Getting Back to Normal
What it’s about: Raccoon has been living on the streets of Reno, NV, for longer than he can remember. To be fair, he can’t remember much more than yesterday, so let’s just say he’s had a tumultuous life for a few solid decades. In fact, he’s gone by the name Raccoon for so long that the life he lived before the streets is as memorable as a fart in the wind. One night while out searching for food, Raccoon discovers the body of a young man, murdered on the sidewalk, left to be forgotten by a world that never knew he existed. Raccoon knows that world, and he has seen that fate time and time again. He makes it his mission to know who this man was and find his killer. Will our detective of the streets find the clues that will bring justice to the forgotten man? Or will his stoned confusion just have him leaping down one rabbit hole after another?

Project #3: Lost in the Weeds: A Comics Anthology
What it’s about: Lost in the Weeds is a comic anthology by Let’s Make Comics!, a Chicago-based comic collective. Once a year we pull a theme out of a hat and turn our members loose on it, with weird and wonderful results. This year we explore getting lost, getting in over our heads, not seeing the forest for the trees, and maybe — just maybe — finding our way out in the end.
