Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Candles

What it’s about: An original graphic novel about magic and monsters. When a plague known as Dark-bark begins to spread over the land, infected villagers disappear into the enchanted forest never to be seen again. When it reaches her village, a young girl called Grace sets out to destroy the evil witch she knows is responsible, desperate to save her family by any means possible – even if that means she must break the greatest taboo of all and steal the witch’s magic. The latest project from independent publisher Cast Iron Books and creator Lyndon White.

Project #2: Isidora and the Immortal Chains #2

What it’s about
: Isidora is a two-thousand-year-old woman, taken from Ancient Rome, to be the herald for the King in Yellow and bearer of his Yellow Sign. Now she seeks to deal justice in her way while also protecting the innocent. With Isidora and the Immortal Chains, I am fusing a unique blend of Lovecraftian horror and the superhero genre, something I call the Lovecraftian Dark Heroverse. Think Silver Surfer meets Cthulhu meets Constantine!

Project #3: HELP: The Hero Initiative Anthology

What it’s about
: This collection captures how comic creators felt, and continue to feel, about giving and receiving help within their community via heartfelt stories that were created during a time of crisis. The HELP anthology project started shortly after state lockdowns for Covid-19 began to impact comic shops, and before it became clear just how widespread the effect would be on the comics industry, from shops, to publishers, to creative professionals with books on the schedule that would soon be put on hold or cancelled. Though the project was initially conceived of as a way to help specific comic shops, as time went on, talking with supportive charities, publishers, and creators helped inform the anthology and its goals. It became a way for creators to donate their time and skills in telling their own one-page stories on the theme of helping others while, ultimately, serving to raise money for those who might be in desperate need of help during these times.
