Abracadaver Events of Fullerton, CA, brought a bit of horror to Orange County on Sunday, October 2. Held at the Hotel Fullerton, attendees were treated to over 60 vendors and exhibitors assembled in two of the facility’s larger ballrooms. Jewelry, books, t-shirts, masks, books, food, art, and collectibles of a macabre nature were available for purchase.

This was the first year of Grave Harvest; however, Abracadaver Event’s sister organization, Abracadaver Productions, has held their Open House and Market on their location’s backlot for the past six summers. The event outgrew their location and instead of turning away vendors, the organizers made the decision to find a larger location. “Abracadaver Events is proud to bring a new Halloween event to Orange County,” said Larry Carr, owner/producer of the organization. The new venue allowed them to stay local and provide an event to kick off Halloween month

In addition to gathering Halloween and horror-oriented merchandise for shoppers to pursue and purchase, the Abracadaver Events organizers scheduled a short list of panels that ranged from writing about horror to starting a haunted attraction business. Media guests Douglas “The Monster Man” Tait (Freddy vs. Jason, Star Trek) and Philip Friedman (Insidious, Shadow of the Blair Witch) were on hand to meet and chat with fans.

Dotting the exhibition rooms, a few attendees were dressed in full regalia costumes, but many more had accented their wardrobes with horror t-shirts and themed skirts and dresses, finished off with some facial make up. The atmosphere of the event was relaxed and family friendly – definitely a fun afternoon and fantastic way to kick off October!
