Blue Milk Special JawaAs an ardent webcomics fan, I have read several over the years of my life, but there are only a few that I consider my absolute favorites.  One such favorite is Blue Milk Special (www.bluemilkspecial.com), a comic that parodies the original Star Wars trilogy.  I recently had the chance to talk to Rod and Leanne Hannah, the creators of BMS, and they were kind enough to answer some questions for me concerning their lives.  Rod did the majority of the talking, and with their permission, I have shared their thoughts and answers.

Mermaid MTBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

We're all aware that mermaids are sea folklore of beauteous maidens: half-women, half fishtail. Legendary sirens that would lure seamen to their deaths with their irresistible pipes.

We're all also aware of the juggernaut adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's Little Mermaid that continues to be a huge cash cow for Disney to this day. Hey, I love that little fish stick, but I love Ursula the Sea Witch even more. What can I tell you? I'm a sucker for a sassy drag queen.

Most of you are probably less aware of the often described mockumentary Mermaids: The Body Found currently airing on Animal Planet.  But, you should be and here's why.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS (But, worth it.)

SuperQueer MTBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

Hot on the high heels of the half a$$ed endorsement of same-sex marriage by President Obama, prematurely forced by Vice President Joe Biden's honest, humble opinion on the matter...half a$$ed? Well, he endorses same-sex marriage but believes it should be a state and NOT a federal decision? Women should no longer be able to vote in Iowa, while you're at it.

Desperately jumping on the pop culture band wagon, Marvel announces the same-sex marriage of long-suffering homosexual and Canadian mutant Northstar to his unrealistic in the real gay world boyfriend Kyle. Ironically, Northstar came out years ago, grabbing many a headline only to go back to being as sexless as a Ken Doll for years.

Dan HarmonWhen you interview someone, you never know how circumstances will change over the course of several months.  When I interviewed Dan Harmon at Paley Fest 2012 back in March, the big news was about the return of Community to the NBC lineup after an unplanned hiatus. Well, several events, including a public spat with Chevy Chase, lead to his dismissal from the show last week.  Watch my interview with Dan before he was let go from the show:

Avengers Assemble HawkeyeThe following is an interview with actor/writer/creator Chris Burns, who plays Hawkeye in the hysterical fan series Avengers Assemble! The Series.  In this interview, Fanboy Comics President Bryant Dillon chats with Burns about his acting career leading up to Avengers Assemble!, the creative process behind the fan-created project, and what to expect from the next season.

This interview was conducted on May 16, 2012.

Gaga Simpsons MTBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

In showbiz, if you flop, they say you died. If you were a smash, they say you killed. The season finale of Fox's long-running cartoon/family sitcom/satirical genius featuring pop icon Lady Gaga most assuredly killed.

The Simpsons is one of those shows I take for granted, assuming it couldn't possibly still be any good after all these years. I usually forget to watch it or that it's even still airing until I'm given a reason to...then, it smacks me in the face what genius this show is and exactly why it's been on 157 billion years and maintains its level of quality.

kelly sue deconnickFanboy Comics Contributor Jason Enright recently had a chance to interview Kelly Sue DeConnick, the writer of some awesome comics like Osborn Incarcerated, Supergirl, and Castle, about her upcoming book Captain Marvel. Here's what she had to say.

This interview was conducted on May 15, 2012.

Ruffalo SmashBy Michael Fitzgerald Troy

Before I start prattling on my editrix would like me to tell you there are possible spoilers of The Avengers movie in this article.   Although, after topping a billion smackers, I doubt there are few on the planet who have yet to see the 1st blockbuster of the summer. And, fewer still that don't know that Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk completely stole the show.

MINOR SPOILERS
