‘Tomb Raider #10:’ Advance Comic Book Review

I did it!  I won!  I beat the game!

Of course, I’m talking about Rise of the Tomb Raider that was finally released for PlayStation 4 last month.  I had so much fun playing this game, and I’m pretty disappointed that it’s over. I still have some side missions to complete and relics to find, but ,overall, I was thoroughly impressed by this video game. I think it will become an asset to the Tomb Raider storyline as a whole.

In the meantime, we still have Dark Horse Comics’ ongoing Tomb Raider comic book series to keep us occupied until the next video game is released.  Last month, we discovered that Lara’s good friend, Sam, has become possessed by the soul of Queen Himiko, and, naturally, Trinity is barely a step behind Ms. Croft as she tries to locate her friend.

In Tomb Raider #10, however, Lara Croft is on the run with her new friend, Professor Morrow. Trinity is out to kill the Professor, because she may have information about how to help Sam rid herself of Queen Himiko’s spirit. But Trinity isn’t the only one after Lara. Sam is so possessed that even she has sent her own enemies after her best friend…

I don’t know what will happen to Lara and Sam, but I do know that script writer Mariko Tamaki has a thrilling story at the point of her pen. I look forward to reading this ongoing series every month. And with line art by Phillip Sevy and colors by Michael Atiyeh, the depth and detail of these comics get deeper and more beautiful with each issue. Keep up the great work, team!

Until next month,
#LaraCroftIsMyHero
