A big, big part of why all of this works is because the creative team captured each of the dogs perfectly. You’re on their side, you understand who they are, and . . . they’re dogs. The premise alone is brilliant. This is like a “Duh, why didn’t I think of that!” kind of premise. It’s so simple and yet, in its execution, so astute.
This issue brings with it some major gasp moments and some big verbal cheering moments, as well. I’m all for reading story arcs that take years to complete, but, sometimes, a nice, five-issue story arc of a well-executed premise is perfect. This series was perfect.
So, if you want to see how a group of dogs deals with a serial killer, dive in.
The final few pages were just beautiful.
