For those who didn’t see the series' Kickstarter or any of its advertisements, our hero in BRZRKR is almost timeless, and during that time he has lived to kill. Despite that, as each page turned, artist Ron Garney provided a thrilling, new boundary that the character could be pushed past. In case you were wondering… that most definitely is Keanu Reeves as drawn by Garney.
Our nameless hero now has a symbiotic relationship with the U.S. government, but I’ll let you discover what those elements are on your own. This first issue is about the visceral experience - and showing the reader what he’s capable of. Whatever you’re expecting, expect more.
I’ve been looking at Garney’s art since the '90s. The guy is great, and the action scenes (and everything in between), along with Crabtree’s colors, really make the important moments pop.
Is this series as good as everyone was hoping? It’s off to a pretty great start! If you want it, you'd better grab it. Something tells me that despite the large quantity of prints being made available, it’s going to sell out fast.
