Fanbase Press Interviews Dan Price on the Launch of the Kickstarter Campaign for ‘Bigfoot Knows Karate 2’

The following is an interview with Dan Price regarding the recent launch of the Kickstarter campaign for Bigfoot Knows Karate 2. In this interview, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief Barbra Dillon chats with Price about returning to the world and characters of the series, the exciting backer rewards which will be available to supporters of the campaign, and more!

Barbra Dillon, Fanbase Press Editor-in-Chief: For those who may be unfamiliar, what can you share with us about the premise of this series?

Dan Price: BIGFOOT KNOWS KARATE is the story of a gentle cryptid warrior dealing with a world where the role of hunter and prey are in constant flux. Cryptids, Kaiju and Monsters lurk around every corner. Think Godzilla vs. Kong meets Kill Bill with a twist of Lost.

BD: What can you tell us about your shared creative process in working with co-writer Casey Allen to bring this story to life?

DP: Casey is a consummate professional. On this second issue, we share writing duties working off my plot and Casey taking the first stab at the script. We go back and edit together, and then I edit dialogue and some pacing if needed. Then, Casey does a final edit over the whole thing before I start lettering.

BD: How many issues do you anticipate releasing in this first story arc?

DP: 5 in this first arc.

BD: In light of the Kickstarter campaign, are there any particular backer rewards that you would like to highlight for our readers?

DP: We have an amazing foil cover by Luis Thomas. Also, the Deluxe Editions of the book come with a lot of extras, including an art gallery and pinup by different artists and a director’s commentary video QR code so you can get all the behind-the-scenes stories and further explanation of the story.

BD: Are there any other projects on which you are working that you would like to share with readers?

DP: Halloween Man meets Latex Avenger! I just did a crowdfund on this with Drew Edwards and Paulo Hernandez. I will have copies at Baltimore Comic Con.

BD: Lastly, what would you like to tell fans who want to learn more about the Bigfoot Knows Karate Kickstarter campaign and your other work?

DP: First, thank you to our readers. BIGFOOT KNOWS KARATE has an amazing following who helped bring this project together. If you like action/adventure and psychological thrillers, this is a great comic for you. The mystery and intrigue are on full tilt and if you like wild stories that only indie comics can bring to the table, get ready for some two-fisted, two-footed fury!
