I don't know about you, but I am still in Fringe withdrawal. I was late to the party; I didn't even start watching the show until a few months before it ended. But, once I got started, I was hooked on the pseudo-science-y plot devices, the mystery of the observers, the playful episode easter eggs, and, of course, the lovable mad scientist, Walter Bishop.
It's no secret that I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, so I leapt at the chance to spend a weekend with friends in Orlando and visit the Harry Potter theme park at Universal Studios. Naturally, Harry Potter-themed treats were a necessity. So, I made my own version of cauldron cakes!
As a follow-up to the unbridled success of Bluewater Comics' 15 Minutes: Honey Boo Boo, the comic book's artist/writer, Michael Troy, is answering the call of the pint-sized, titular character by immortalizing her as a comic book superhero. Troy created four exclusive, classic collectible covers for the digital release of 15 Minutes: Honey Boo Boo, all of which were an homage to various superhero covers, including Wonder Woman in Sensation Comics #1 and Supergril in Action Comics #252. The classic covers featuring Honey Boo Boo are now available for sale digitally for $1.99 each on iTunes, Kindle, Wowio, and My Digital Comics.
When Peter Jackson’s first Lord of the Rings film opened in December of 2001, I began a long tradition of associating Tolkien stories with the holiday season. I read all the books. My father re-read them. And, for a few years, seeing one of The Lord of the Rings films with my dad became an important Christmas ritual.
This holiday season, I was excited to renew that tradition by seeing the newest Tolkien film, The Hobbit. In preparation, I started reading the book, and I was pleased to discover that Mr. Bilbo Baggins is a foodie!

Troy's comic book uncovers the reasons behind America's fascination with the pint-sized Toddlers & Tiaras star. The comic is part of Bluewater's 15 Minutes series, which focuses on reality TV celebrities.

When our friends over at Fanboy Comics suggested that we collaborate with them, our wheels started to turn as we imagined the many possibilities of exploring foods related to some of our nerdier tendencies.

When I first found out that my awesome friend Darick Robertson would be joining up with Grant Morrison to make Image Comics' title Happy!, I was ecstatic. Transmetropolitan remains my current favorite graphic series of all time, and Happy! is already shaping up to be just as amazing a piece of art and literature.
As you guys know, I contact a friend of mine who has made it in the indie comic book industry to sit down for one inspirational interview a month, and I am beyond Happy! to have Darick Robertson as my featured Indie and the Geek creator for October.
