With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! We hope that you will join us in giving these projects a moment of your time (and possibly your support)!

Project #1: Brokenland #4

What it's about: This October, indie comics creator Drew Morrison invites fans to Kickstart the conclusion of the vividly illustrated silent comic, Brokenland. For lovers of Jim Woodring's Frank and Jeff Smith's Bone, the anthropomorphic creatures and lovable characters of Brokenland tell tales that balance dark humor and topical themes, all in a single 52-page double issue! Growth, change, and a massive garbage problem. Meeso wants to do good but isn't sure where to start; Brokenland is a tough city populated by all manner of weirdos. When a workplace accident sends the timid Meeso, whose intentions often go overlooked, down a bizarre path of self-discovery, the creature undergoes a transformation unlike any other.

Project #2: The Brothers James

What it's about
: Brian Level and Ryan Ferrier return to The Brothers James with love in their hearts and more highway miles behind them to revisit the series that launched them into comics! Identical twin orphans, Jack and John James, terrorize the southern US highways to wrap up unfinished business: Hunt down and kill the bikers that butchered their parents fifteen years earlier! Alongside rarely seen early artwork from Michael Walsh and Brian Level, Eamon Hill joins the team to drive the story to its bloody and heart-wrenching conclusion. Finished and collected here for the first time ever! And for issue collectors, the brand new final issue #5 will be available at last, as well as new covers for issues #1-4!

Project #3: New Rat City

What it's about
: In a near-future New York City, curious pest controller Felicia Shepherd discovers how the mystery of her mother’s disappearance is related to the biggest threat facing the flooding, rat-plagued city. New Rat City is written by underground New York poet Honor Vincent (Andraste, Yes Poetry) with art by George Quadros (Andraste, The Ascendant), colors by DC Alonso (Star Trek, Suneater), letters by Lucas Gattoni (Locke and Key, Daredevil), and cover by Ariel Medel (Xena, Marvel's The Unbeatables, John Carter). New Rat City is a 4-issue miniseries about conflicted exterminators, New York City's future, and what happens when nature comes to collect on her debt. It's a mystery bathed in the warm sticky slime of ecological horror.

Project #4: Prospects #1-3

What it's about
: Band of Bards is proud to announce Prospects, the all-new nine-issue miniseries that is an absurdist political satire from writer and creator Maxwell Majernik (Path of Monsters) and artist Jean Franco (Monty the Dinosaur). A title that’s sure to ring the bell for fans of Rick and Morty, Shaun of the Dead, and Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!

The town of Ridgeville has been stuck in the middle of a 150-year-old battle between two mad scientists, and former colleagues, Edwin Grabowski and Victor Farsimov. Both claim to have figured out the secret of immortality and created armies of zombies and cyborgs using their respective methods. The scientists have waged a war for so long within the town, that the townspeople now consider it an honor to be abducted by either one of them in their quest for glory. Anyone who shows any bit of potential, be it brains, brawn, or anything in between, will be captured by one of the scientists by the time they are 25 years old. This brings us on to 30 year old Colin Bates, who isn’t one of the prospects. He has been selected by no one, not by the scientists, girls, or even friends. He spends most of his days watching TV in his basement, trying to avoid doing odd jobs for his Grandma and her posse. Yet everything changes when a notorious terrorist, intent on destroying both scientists, appears in Colin’s basement, begging him to take over his legacy.

What it's about
: Look no further for a very timely sci-fi thriller than Pandemic Punk #1! Written by TJ Walker (Phoenix Run) and Will Strode (Bojack Horseman), with art by Ari Syahrazad (Black Dahlias), Remus Brezeanu (Beethoven Immortal Genius), and Armin Ozdic, colors by Dimitris Martin (Skies of Fire) and Łukasz Juśkewicz, and letters by Micah Myers (He-Man Masters of the Universe: The Newspaper Comic Strips).

Pandemic Punk is a trans-media comic book extension to the popular "Phoenix Run" franchise. It covers a mass amount of media forms, from comic books, to films, so that you can truly immerse yourself in the ruined world of viruses, vaccines, and super powered danger.
