#CrowdfundingFridays: ‘Clodagh #1,’ ‘Glarien of White Ash,’ and ‘The Saddest Angriest Black Girl in Town’

Here at Fanbase Press, we strive to provide an outlet for up-and-coming creators to promote and showcase their incredible works. With thousands of creators utilizing crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and Indiegogo to make those works a reality, we will highlight these talented creators and their noteworthy campaigns through #CrowfundingFridays! Project #1: Clodagh #1 – Dark Fantasy/Horror

What it’s about
: As a witch decapitates, devours, and destroys anyone who stands in her way, ex-warrior Clodagh must battle through a world of mercenaries and murderous hulks to reach and rescue her stolen family.

The coolest backer reward: £11 – Signed Special Edition of Issue 1 – with a virgin cover by Mel Ford. The comic will also be signed by the author.

Project #2: Glarien of White Ash

What it’s about
: A new comic book mini-series for mature readers set in the White Ash Universe. The 40-page first issue of Glarien follows the early days of White Ash’s most dangerous elf, as told through the eyes of Rachel, a young woman living in 1970s New York City. Think Red Sonja meets Taxi Driver... but with Elves and demons.

Project #3: The Saddest Angriest Black Girl in Town

What it’s about
: An autobiographical comic that explores the intersection of Blackness and mental health. The Saddest Angriest Black Girl in Town was created by the award-winning cartoonist Robyn Smith (Nubia: Real One, Wash Day). It was originally self-published and was named one of the best short-form comics of 2016 by The Comics Journal! Black Josei Press is excited to be reprinting the 32-page comic which features a gorgeous new watercolor cover and bonus process pages.
