*As a special note, Fanbase Press would like to recognize the impact that the comics industry is making through the Kickstarter platform. As reported by CBR this week, comic book projects on the crowdfunding platform have had their sixth consecutive best year (in 2022). According to CBR’s Andreas Neuenkirchen, “2,805 projects launched under Kickstarter’s comics category in 2022 and 2,205 of them were successful, which is approximately a 100 project increase compared to 2021’s number of successful projects. The overall success rate for comics projects came in at 78 percent and the overall funded amount was $30,984,765.”
Hats off to the comics creators who have worked so hard to bring these projects to life, as well as all those who help to make Kickstarter a viable platform for sharing creators’ stories and voices!
Project #1: Finding Dee – Volume 1
What it’s about: Finding Dee started as a weekly webcomic devoted to the semi-autobiographical misadventures of a 40-something cartoonist trying to make it in comics while navigating the ins and outs of coming out as a transgender woman. Also, trying to find a place to pee.

Project #2: A Tiger’s Tale – Volumes 1 & 2
What it’s about: The acclaimed Kung Fu [wuxia] graphic novel series comes back to Kickstarter with these epic 90- and 100-page graphic novels! This tale of a young tiger finding his place among dragons is ideal for the young reader or martial arts enthusiast on the quest for mythical adventure.
