Join Fanbase Press, the Creators of ‘Monster Matador’ and ‘Under the Cottonwood Tree,’ and More at the 2023 ‘LA Times’ Festival of Books

The Fanbase Press staff – in conjunction with Monster Matador‘s Steven Prince and Under the Cottonwood Tree‘s Paul Meyer – are very excited to be exhibiting at the 2023 Los Angeles Times Festival of Books! Taking place from April 22-23, 2023, at the USC Campus, the Los Angeles Times Festival of Books gathers writers, poets, artists, filmmakers, musicians, and emerging storytellers as the largest event of its kind in the United States. Throughout the weekend, we will be meeting readers at Booth #839, where you can purchase all of our comics and graphic novels!

BOOTH #839 EXHIBITORS

FANBASE PRESS  |  Fans in attendance will have a chance to stop by Booth #839 to pick up copies of Fanbase Press’ comics and graphic novels, including the 2018 Eisner Award-nominated Quince, the multiple award-winning Quince: The Definitive Bilingual Edition hardcover, and 2022 International Latino Book Award-winning Nuclear Power, and the 2022 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year Award finalist – Ripple Effects!

MONSTER MATADOR
Monster Matador is a delightfully demented Kaiju throw-down that follows Matador Ramon Alejandro Estévez Guerrero as he travels a post-apolcalyptic future to fight monsters and make a better world for his daughter. Written by Steven Prince (Nightmare Theatre), drawn by Ringo Award nominee Fabio Alves (Banjax, The Jump), and colored by Alex Zief (Cult of Dracula).  Steven Prince will be on hand at the booth to meet readers!

UNDER THE COTTONWOOD TREE  |  It’s 1949, and the sleepy little village of Algodones, New Mexico is about to be awoken by a strange magic. An enchanted cookie transforms Carlos Lucero from a boy into a black and white calf, and it’s up to his older brother Amadeo to find a way to change him back! Join them on the adventure of a lifetime while they unravel the many secrets of the forest and discover the true meaning of El Susto de la Curandera! Written by Paul Meyer and Charles Meyer and illustrated by Margaret Hardy.  Paul Meyer will be on hand at the booth to meet readers!
